SIDWELL FRIENDS SCHOOL

Working with Kieran Timberlake, Studio Bryan Hanes developed an entry sequence and plaza for the Sidwell Friends School. Articulating a welcoming arrival space, SBH designed a plaza that is both a portal and a transition zone. The plaza functions as a point of arrival, a juncture between different programmatic elements, and a gathering space for formal events and informal socializing. The plaza also connects the upper and lower portions of the campus.
